The joys of laundry
Mar. 21st, 2005 07:02 amLaundry can be fun at the end of a long, busy weekend. I had loads going most of Sunday, which meant I had a mountain of laundry to fold by Sunday evening. So I settled it all on the living room couch, just leaving enough room for me to sit, put in a DVD of the mindless-entertainment variety, and spent an enjoyable time folding laundry and stacking it on the coffee table before putting it all away. Last night's DVD choice, in remembrance of Andre Norton (she passed away on March 17) was that classic of 80's B-grade fantasy movies: Beastmaster. Badly dyed tigers, reluctant-performer eagles, and wacky ferrets? Check! Ludicrous flesh-baring costumes? Check! A script so deviant from the original source material that Ms. Norton insisted her name be removed from the credits? Check! Add the acting talents of Marc Singer, Tanja Roberts, and a cast of tens...and you have a camp classic that never fails to amuse. All that and folded laundry, too!
