Geek warning
Sep. 27th, 2006 10:20 amHow big a geek am I?
Well, I was watching the premiere of "Heroes" on NBC, and when one character tells another that everything he knows about time travel he learned in (Uncanny) X-Men #143, I immediately snapped back: "NO, that would be Uncanny X-Men #141 and #142 (Days of Future Past), you stupid writers! X-Men #143 was the Christmas-Monster-Down-The-Chimney, which had nothing to do with time travel! Do your homework!"
And yeah, I own the issues. Almost the first comics I ever bought.
Oh gods, I really am a geek sometimes...
That aside, I rather enjoyed the pilot episode. It was silly and interesting and occasionally snarky, and while there are some aspects that could be inherently really cliche and stupid (I'm looking at you, Eyeglasses-Man-Villain), it piqued my interest enough that I'll try to tune in next week.
