Why I don't watch many TV series, part 27
Dec. 5th, 2006 07:55 amI'm just not good at remembering that a particular TV show is on at a particular time. I am also not good about wanting to drop whatever it is I'm doing to go plunk down in front of a TV because show X is about to start. And naturally, when I have more than one TV show I'm interested in watching, the shows will be on at the same time.
Take last night's adventures in TV watching, for example. I was reminded earlier in the day by
sunkrux that The Closer was airing a 2-hour TV episode at 8 p.m.. (And thank you SunKrux for the reminder!) I was very enthusiastic about this - at 4 p.m.. At 8 p.m., I was happily working away on my computer when I looked down at the clock and started swearing a blue streak. I raced upstairs, slapped a tape in the VCR, and started recording - because while I *did* want to see the episode (and indeed it was a hoot; I watched from about 8:40 on, and I caught the part that I missed on the 10 p.m. repeat), I didn't want to have to stop what I was doing and watch it right then.
Okay, but all was spiffy, right? I did in fact manage to remember AND watch my show. Victory, yes?
Wrong.
I totally spaced on Heroes, which ran at 9 p.m.. And I do mean spaced - as in I forgot to watch last week's repeat at 7 p.m. on the Sci-Fi Channel, since I missed the episode last week, too. And I enjoy that show. Really.
Sigh.
I'd invest in a TiVo, but honestly, how much TV do I need to watch? And I have a perfectly good VCR, which I just can't be bothered to program, because I never get around to watching the tapes.
Sigh.
I'm just not good at keeping up with TV shows.
