'Tis the Season to be Sociable
Dec. 8th, 2006 07:43 amGenerally speaking,
fisherbear don't get out much during the week. This week, however, has been quite the exception to the rule. We had dinner with my family on Tuesday, which was nice. We had photo group on Wednesday (our one semi-regular midweek activity). And last night we met Luthien and RocketMan at Cedars for Indian food.
We had thought when planning for this that RocketMan was working on the west side that day, so it was only Luthien and I who would be dealing with the east-to-west commute for the meet-up. Then came the word on Wednesday night that RocketMan had to work on the east side after all that day...but unfortunately I was already locked into driving the van, so we stayed with the west side dining plan. Poor RocketMan didn't show up at the restaurant until 7:30...but then again, that meant he didn't have to wait in the insanely overcrowded and noisy antechamber with us, either. We thought we had a reservation at 7 p.m., y'see. We thought this because we called up Cedars, asked if they took reservations, and when they said yes, made a reservation for 4 people at 7 p.m.. Either they lost the reservation, or they don't really take reservations after all...we were never quite sure. Sigh. But the food was excellent (and we all have leftovers) and the company sublime.
After dinner, we adjourned to the Third Place pub for more socializing (and beer! for RocketMan and
fisherbear), and we called
monkeybard and NordicBoy to see if they wanted to join us. They did, and we had a lovely time. I could get used to this...but only with more practice, as I'm pretty sleepy this morning. Still, well worth it. :-)
