The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Dec. 11th, 2006 11:36 amThe Good:
The Bad:
The Ugly:
- I had a nice breakfast with my Mom, my Dad,
fisherbear, and my sister on Saturday morning. - I had a lovely massage late Saturday morning with the incomparable Shelagh.
- I got a lot of holiday shopping done.
- I vacuumed and tidied the upstairs.
- I got all the holiday stuff out from under the stairs.
- I hung the outdoor lights.
fisherbear and I supported the local tree farm and bought a Christmas tree.- I decorated said tree, the living room, and the front door with appropriate seasonal decorations.
- I made some kick-ass turkey burrito mix (said mix had kale and swiss chard in it, not standard to burritos, but oh so good) and we had a very tasty Sunday dinner.
fisherbear produced a treat for dessert - a teensy bit of mint chip ice cream. Yum!
fisherbear did several loads of laundry, unloaded the dishwasher, reloaded the dishwasher, and tidied the kitchen.
The Bad:
- I woke up with a splitting headache on Saturday morning, and felt achy and lethargic and out of sorts.
- Sinus drugs and coffee helped, but I still felt like crap.
- By Saturday night, it was obvious I was running a temperature. Gee, temperature, sore, achy, congested - why hello there, influenza!
The Ugly:
- My mood when I get sick. I don't have TIME for getting sick. Therefore I won't get sick. And if I am sick, I am still going to get things done, because I don't have TIME for sitting around not doing anything.
- The fact that I don't have TIME (or the temperment) to just sit around and let myself be sick.
- The fact that I still feel like crap today. I'm better than I was, but still, I don't feel well. And that sucks. I don't have TIME for this!

Bad way to get better, but very typical for us Type A personalities.
