The Genius of YouTube
Feb. 7th, 2007 09:09 amThe current pillaging/purging of YouTube of copyrighted material is in some ways a shame, and in some ways entirely predictable (for example, I'm not at all surprised that you can't view Prince's halftime show from the Superbowl because CBS ordered it pulled from their site, although I'm stunned that CBS itself isn't offering it). I've spoken previously about its power as a "wayback machine", a repository of old clips and snippets of video artifacts that you just can't easily find elsewhere. And then there's the outlet for creative genius.
If you're a fan of both Doctor Who and Monty Python and the Holy Grail, this will have you in stitches. If you don't know both, this probably will make no sense - but trust me, it's genius.

Hat tip: Andrew Sullivan. I don't know how he found it, but all praise to him for pointing it out.
