jaunthie | Weekend catch-up notes

I didn't do a single thing for work this weekend. I meant to do a few fiddly bits, but nope, nada, never got online to do any of it. And after the last two weekends, boy oh BOY did that feel good.

Not that I wasn't busy this weekend. I had coffee and chat with my parents, my sister, and

fisherbear on Saturday morning. Saturday mid-day I had a massage, wherein it became abundantly clear that I was even more tense/knotted up from the crazy schedule of the last two weeks than I had realized. Saturday afternoon found fisherbear and I running a couple of errands at the local mall (ugh!), where I managed to buy two new pairs of jeans (on sale!) despite the truly epically BAD customer service at the store. Saturday evening was dinner with the parents, my sister, one of Mom's best friends, and one of Dad's best friends at a Mexican restaurant, while fisherbear went for a boy's night out with RocketMan. Since he was out, I watched a few more episodes of Season 2 of the Wild Wild West that night (strenuously resisting the temptation to devour the whole set in one giant sitting, but oh am I enjoying watching the eps!).

Sunday morning was a bit of a rush, as I needed to walk to the grocery store to get a few items for baking cookies for

sunkrux's going-away party. fisherbear and I picked up humilitas on the way, and we had as good a time as you can reasonably expect at a going-away party for a friend. I was fighting a fairly significant headache by midafternoon, so we left earlier than we might have otherwise. I took headache medicine, made pot roast for dinner (gotta love the pressure cooker), and wrapped up a not-work weekend by finishing a murder mystery book I've been reading while watching the new "Planet Earth" series with the hubby.

Oh, and there was weeding somewhere in there too, although not enough. Maybe I'll get some more done tonight, if the weather holds - but in the meantime, back to work!
