Follow-up to yesterday's scone recipe
Apr. 15th, 2007 11:20 amThe scones I made yesterday are even better with a bit of rose-petal jam spread across them. Yum! Of course, you might not have rose-petal jam in your cupboard at home, it not being very common. Which is a shame, as it's amazing stuff. It's the only jam I like, actually; no seeds, no cooked fruit, no gooey mushy elements, just wonderful flavor where a little goes a long way. It's a jam that holds all the essences of summer and the joys of my garden. I made a huge batch of it from my own roses last year, and after opening a new jar this morning, I still have one jar left in the cupboard. That should easily get us through until I can make another big batch when all the roses come into their heaviest bloom, probably around June.
Can't wait!
