Why local is just so much better
Apr. 28th, 2007 10:30 pmYears ago, my dentist's office was in a great big building downtown. Dr. Brown was wonderful, certainly worth the inconvenience of travelling there. But when he retired (and when his replacement proved to suck), I looked closer to home for a new dentist. My current dentist, Dr. Karl, has a office in easy walking distance of my home. And although it's a small practice compared to the big downtown centers, it's got a huge advantage over any other dentist I know of. Should you happen to have a dental emergency outside of normal office hours (say, like losing a filling at 9:30 a.m. on a Saturday), you can call his office and choose the option to connect to his home or cell in the case of a dental emergency. And you can count on him calling you back as soon as he gets your message, and arranging a time to meet you at his office ASAP (on a sunny Saturday afternoon no less) to cheerfully patch you up, no worries, no big deal on his part.
Of course, it's a great big wonderful deal to me.
