Iconic communication
May. 4th, 2007 11:32 amI received the following message from
fisherbear on IM today:
+o( (au) (c) (L)
For those of you unfamiliar with IM icon code, that tranlates into: a "smiley" type face with an unhappy expression and a thermometer sticking out of the mouth; a miniature car; a steaming cup; and a heart.
From these four pictures, I immediately (and correctly) translated the following meaning:
"I'm feeling really sick and I need to go home. Can you come pick me up, preferably really soon? I think I'll need to drink a lot of ThroatCoat tea as soon as we get back to the house (and maybe I'll just curl up and die, this really sucks). I love you."
All in four little pictures.
I think this says something scary about my chosen profession.
What do we humans need written words for again, exactly? ;-)
