Turns out that it wasn't just allergies munching on fisherbear last week. He also had a doozy of a cold (the symptoms of which were masked by the allergies), and now I have it. I stayed home sick yesterday, and I'm still really woozy today. Not only am I astonishingly tired, but I'm vaguely dizzy because of the upper-sinus/inner-ear congestion. Highly disconcerting, particularly as I've learned that it's really hard to stay grounded when you're physically off-balance.

In other, unrelated news: for those of you Xena fans out there who might have been deterred from owning the season box sets because of their exorbitant price, all Xena season sets (except Season 4, darn it!) are not only on sale at Amazon, they're buy one season, get another season free. Yeah, you read that correctly. There's a bunch of other shows included in the sale they're having, too, but it's the first time I've ever seen Xena on that list. Heck, it's the first time I've ever heard of Xena seasons being under $25. So if you've got gaps in your collection...hustle on over, because these sales don't last long.

Do you use a decongestant nasal spray at all? While they have their issues, one of their advantages is that they can often help open up your eustacian tubes, allowing them to drain and easing up the inner ear issues.

I've used Afrin occasionally, but I find that I'm reluctant to take much in the way of drugs while I'm feeling this wonky. Which is a catch-22 if I ever heard one. I'll give that a try later today.
