Triaging

I've noticed that when I get really, really busy, I start unconsciously triaging what I need to do and changing my usual habits. This last stretch, I've noticed that I've more or less stopped looking at the news and news commentary sites, except for a quick glance at the headlines. I just don't have time for the rest of the world right now, and I don't have the blood pressure to spare, either. I don't like feeling ignorant about what's happening in my state/country/world (hence I continue to glance at headlines), but it's something I can drop for a while if I absolutely have to.

I'm curious to know if any of you out there have any things you tend to change/stop doing when you get busy, and if so, what those things are?

Edited to add: ...and then sometimes I relieve stress by taking silly quizzes. I got this one courtesy of Uncle Andrew:
56%

So while he and I share the same alignment as The Tick, for some reason I'm allegedly more likely to survive a zombie apocalypse. I'm not sure whether that's comforting or terrifying. Perhaps it's just that I've actually read the Zombie Attack Survival Guide.

That's easy. Exercise. :P I wish it weren't that easy to stop doing, because it is very hard to start doing.

::off to take the zombie attack quiz::

Oh dear me, yes. Exercise goes out the window - and getting back in is an art I've yet to master, I'm afraid.

So what's your predicted survival percentage in case of zombies?

Getting back into exercising is sooooo difficult. And now my running bud is going away for the summer. Wah! I'm gonna have to load up my mp3 player and run all alone. :(

I think my zombie survival percentage was 42 or maybe 46%. Before I could post it, my browser crashed, and I've not gone back to retake it.

(PS. Just sent you the file we chatted about last night. I hope you find it satisfactory. ;-> )

I think the place where I failed the survival test was in the physical department. My back problems make me a prime candidate for being staked out as a diversion.

If you liked the Zombie Survival Guide, you really ought to check out his newest book, World War Z. An oral history of the Zombie War. Very well done, IMHO. Would make a killer movie if whoever did it weren't guaranteed to screw it up.
