Thank goodness it's Friday, because both [livejournal.com profile] fisherbear and I are really, really tired. We almost slept through the alarm clock, and just barely made it out the door in time. I'm looking forward to tomorrow, when I don't have to set the alarm clock to go off at the crack of dawn. Granted, this weekend is packed with activities, but at least none of them start off as early as my workdays.

Since it is Friday, I think I'll indulge in a little silly quizzage:

This first one rather disconcerted me, until I realized that if you change the gender of every question, I'd answer exactly the same way. Dunno if I'd call that feminist so much as...equalitist? Individualist? I don't know that there's actually a term for it.

You Are 85% Feminist

You are a total feminist. This doesn't mean you're a man hater (in fact, you may be a man).
You just think that men and women should be treated equally. It's a simple idea but somehow complicated for the world to put into action.

Like I said, I wouldn't call myself "a total feminist" so much as I profoundly believe that every adult, male or female, is responsible for (and capable of) taking care of him- or her- self. That's what makes an adult an adult, in my world anyway.

This second one is interesting:

You Are Likely a First Born

At your darkest moments, you feel guilty.
At work and school, you do best when you're researching.
When you love someone, you tend to agree with them often.

In friendship, you are considerate and compromising.
Your ideal careers are: business, research, counseling, promotion, and speaking.
You will leave your mark on the world with discoveries, new information, and teaching people to dream.

Those of you who know me know whether the predictor got it right or not. And speaking of getting it right...

You are 60% Leo

*snicker*

I hope everyone out there has a great Friday and a fabulous weekend!

This is in my opinion what makes a feminist, before the term became so politicized and vilified. (I'm not saying that there haven't been a few psycho feminists, too, but really, far, I think, from the majority.) Someday the term won't make any sense, and it really will make the most sense to just say humanist or something -- or perhaps something broader than that. There's something to be said for that approach now... but for the moment, in our society, there's something to be said for feminism too, because sometimes we need the reminder.
