Apparently today is Crazy Pedestrian Day

In my experience you don't usually see too many pedestrians before 7 a.m., and those that you do see are generally sensible, staying on sidewalks, using crosswalks, and the like.

Not this morning.

Between the time I left my house (6:20) and the time I parked the vanpool at work, I'd had to dodge, avoid, and otherwise fail to smoosh no fewer than SIX pedestrians pulling crazy, risk-to-life-and-limb stunts. Darting out across busy streets, running lights, failing to walk the ten feet in order to USE that crosswalk, wandering out into the street without looking, that kind of thing.

What gives? It must be something in the air today.

Please be extra careful if you're driving today. Keep your eyes peeled for the peds, because crazy-silly-wrong or not, hitting one is guaranteed to give everyone a bad day.

And if you're thinking about going out walking today...don't succumb to the crazy vibe, okay?

For me today it's been crazy drivers. Never mind the woman on Bellevue Way who couldn't drive a straight line. (I wonder if it was because she found the lane too wide?? Still, stupid.) It was the jackass who damned near T-boned me at 65th and 40th this afternoon who I hope never reproduces. He didn't stop for the stop sign and the blinking red light. He didn't stop as I was turning directly across his path. He didn't even f*ing slow down. Had I not seriously accelerated (sp?? I cannot spell atm.) into my turn there'd've been MonkeyBard smooshage, fercryinoutloud.

I'd say it's just crazy people day, period. While walking back from being dropped at the corner near my place this ass whip in his shiny new hybrid car ran the freakin' red light while I and several other people were crossing...we had the fucking right of way!

Guess the rules do not apply to him since he was in a hurry.

MB - also glad to hear you weren't a side of road kill. I'd have to come back to and hunt that ass hat down and kill him.
