Well, the big deadline was Friday...
Sep. 15th, 2007 09:50 pm...and I'm happy to say that we made it, and I even have some sanity left. (Not much, but then I never did have much.) I'm tired, and still have far too many knots even after this morning's massage (booked with this deadline in mind), but I do believe we've made it once again.

(1) Go to Career Web Site that shall remain anonymous - see ETA below.
(2) Put in Username: Password:
(3) Take their "Career Matchmaker" questions.
(4) Post the top ten results.
I don't follow directions when I don't see the need, so: the top thirteen careers according to the tool, with a bit of commentary:
1. Director of Photography
Well, I like taking pictures, but I wouldn't have thought this would be the top pick...
2. Set Designer
Say what?!?
3. Costume Designer
I like making my own costumes, 'tis true, but as a career? I'm sensing a Hollywood theme here...and you know how I feel about living in Southern California.
4. Website Designer
HTML, JavaScript, stylesheets, XML, oh my!
5. Special Effects Technician
Like every other kid my age, I wanted to work at ILM when I grew up (or Jim Henson's Creature Workshop)
6. Desktop Publisher
That was a really crappy program back in the early '90's...
7. Lobbyist
Oh gods. Shoot me now. Really.
8. Industrial Designer
"But worst of all, young man, you've got Industrial Disease!"
9. Technical Writer
"Well technically I am a writer, so could I be called a technical writer?"
10. Animator
That'd be cool if I could draw.
11. Cartoonist / Comic Illustrator
Yeah, ditto with the above...
12. Actor
Uh, no. I know actors. I don't have the skill set, the calling, or the willingness to put up with the rigamarole or the poverty.
13. Criminologist
Really cool if I could get all those magic toys on the TV crime shows.
As they said on Laugh-In, "Veeeeery interesting!"
Edited to add: TangerinPenguin just informed me below that at least one (presumably) legit user of the career site has asked that people stop doing this, so I've removed the name of the site, the username, and the password information from the post. I'm sure you could find it elsewhere, but I'd rather not perpetuate it myself if it's causing problems.
