The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Nov. 1st, 2007 09:36 pmI worked from home today for a number of reasons, the primary two being that it was the day after Halloween (pumpkin-roasting day!) and the first day of NaNoWriMo.
The Good:
The Bad:
The Ugly:
With that, I am off to finish putting pureed pumpkin in containers, clean the kitchen, and maybe kick back with a bit of cider.
The Good:
- Didn't have to get up at 5 a.m. to catch the van
- Completed my visual test pass of documentation
- Researched a potential doc issue and made an appropriate fix that should help users
- Was able to take a few hours this morning to have coffee and a write-in with
monkeybard - Roasted two of last night's jack-o-lanterns, made spicy pumpkin sausage soup with some of the roasted bounty and plan on freezing the rest
- Got a load of laundry done
- Wrote 3,877 words on the NaNovel (between this morning's write-in and the after-dinner write session)
- Successfully diagnosed a workaround to the latest build break in the doc set at work
The Bad:
- Yet another frickin' fire drill at work caused yet again by our not-so-lovely build team. They're considering fixing the rather significant bug I found and filed against them after the major release of our documentation. Have I mentioned how much I looooove that team?
- Spent several hours hunting for and making manual fixes for said bug
- Missed making the complete fix for a doc issue the first time around based on an incomplete understanding of the problem
- Did not get more laundry done
The Ugly:
- My attitude towards our build team
- The fact that I forgot when the Writers-Out-Of-Files deadline actually was (I thought it was EOD today for some stupid reason; it was EOD yesterday)
- The pumpkin-related mess still waiting for me in the kitchen
With that, I am off to finish putting pureed pumpkin in containers, clean the kitchen, and maybe kick back with a bit of cider.
