Although the news from the national and international level is pretty horrid, on the personal front things are going quite well.

• Grandma J is back home in Edmonds.


• The upstairs of my house is squeaky-clean. (The downstairs isn't, but fisherbear likes clutter, and it's his house too.)


• I've survived the Christmas celebrations and the baby showers for my sister-in-law. (The last few days have been *packed* with activities.) I've even enjoyed them. And the cinnamon rolls came out really well.


• A friend told me some really, really, really good news today.


• I'm not at work this week. Working hard, mind you, but I'm mostly not working for my company, just for myself.


• I've rewritten a problematic chapter and realized an important occurance that needs to happen at the wine bar scene in the NaNovel.


• I've figured out my spy outfit for monkeybard's New Year's Eve party and what I'm likely to bring.

Looks like the year might go out on some high notes. Huzzah!

I hope the holiday season and end-of-year activites are treating everyone well.
