...do yourself a favor: get out there this weekend and go see it. It's good, and it deserves your support. I went and saw it Saturday with a number of folks, including [livejournal.com profile] fisherbear who has never seen an episode of Firefly (for those of you who don't know, that's the short-lived TV show that the movie is based on), and we all really liked it. You don't need to be a fan of the show (or of Joss Whedon) to enjoy the experience.

That said, I'm going to say a few things that you probably don't want to read until and unless you've already seen the movie. Read more... )

I'm a fan of the New York Times editorial columnist staff, even though they have several columnists that I regularly diagree with and at least one whom I think is guilty of drinking the Kool-Aid far too often. Unfortunately, the New York Times no longer has its editorials available online unless you pay a special fee. Which is too bad, because Paul Krugman has a summary of some of our current state of affairs that might really drop some jaws, and Frank Rich has a lovely bit of vitriol that skewers both parties.

Then again, maybe both of these gentlemen know very few people might read their articles, compared to before the restriction, and are annoyed enough to take off the gloves?
