It's raining, it's pouring...
Jan. 7th, 2009 09:51 pm...major interstates and mountain passes are closed due to the flooding...
Seriously, it's a bit of a mess. Fortunately my area is once again in the shadow of the mountains, so we've gotten very little rain so far in comparison to other parts of the state. Which is to say that my local weather recording station (3 blocks from my house, and I do so love Weather Underground and its individual weather monitoring stations!) says that we've gotten 3/4 of an inch of rain in the last several hours. Positively trivial compared to the multiple inches of other areas, but still more volume in a short amount of time than we're used to. The water running down the street is impressive, and I definitely got wet on the short walk home from the bus stop.
I hope everyone is well and staying dry!
