I had a lot of things to accomplish this weekend, but I found I couldn't help adding on some yard-work to the activities. The front herb beds looked very messy after this winter. They really needed deadheading, trimming, some digging out of things that clearly hadn't survived, and a little prudent weeding. Similarly, there were branches and shrubs around the property that had bent severely during the snows and needed to be removed or at least clipped back out of the way. And then there was the winter jasmine...and the clearing of part of one of the vegetable beds...and the relocation of the bronze fennel (no idea if it'll survive in a pot, but it really was too big for the bed it was in)...

Sigh. There's still so much to be done, but I've already filled both yard waste bins, and I have a pile that will probably fill them all over again. And I really need to get some other things done before heading back to work tomorrow.

At least things look marginally better out front. Now if I could just manage to make as much visible progress with other things!

Ahhh...digging in the dirt is so theraputic! You needed the grounding, I suspect. :o)

Indeed, I think you're right. Not to mention the comfort of visible progress. Gardening is great for that; you work, and when you're done, you can SEE the changes. Yes, there will be more to come, but there's always some instant gratification.
