I don't really follow much serialized television these days. I'm just not good at keeping up with TV shows. But the ads for the new TNT show "Leverage" caught my eye a while back, and I've managed to see some episodes.
Okay, I know that in many ways it's crap. Cartoon physics, magic technology, plot holes you could drive a bus through.
But oh my gosh, the ensemble cast is having a blast. They're having so much fun, you can't help but enjoy yourself too.
And it's Robin Hood, basically. Robin Hood and Mission Impossible. I am such a sucker for that kind of story.
Best of all, missing an episode or three has very little impact on your ability to follow the story. It's just not that complicated, or deep, or twisty. It's just good plain stupid fun.
The first "season" (what, like 12 episodes) is almost over, just one more to go. But I just read that it's been picked up for a second season, so yay. Maybe by the time the next season rolls around, I'll have actually seen all the episodes from this season.
