This is odd, because I wasn't expecting to hear anything. I know I don't hear as far into the high-end range as I used to (my teenage years are long ago). I must say that I don't exactly hear the sound as a pitch so much as I'm aware of it as pressure, so I suspect it's at the very top end of what I can sense anymore. But I can definitely sense it, and it's definitely aggravated my head into ringing in protest.

Not exactly a good thing, but maybe worth it to know that my hearing isn't totally shot.

It probably would have been worse if I hadn't had the volume turned down, and if the computer had anything other than the built-in speakers. As it is, I can't imagine how very painfully annoying this would be as a broadcast in a mall. Yuck!

Yes it would have been worse. I'm glad none of the malls I visited had that...or if they did, I didn't hear it then. I would have left.
