Another day in the sun
Mar. 19th, 2009 08:06 pmGot up at oh-dark-hundred this morning in order to go shooting. Shooting pictures, that is, stalking the wild picture.
fisherbear and I braved the truly awful morning traffic/commute in order to get to the botanical garden right as it opened, hoping to catch some decent light. We spent three and a half hours wandering around, framing shots, snapping away, and trying to avoid the increasing hordes of children (it was field trip central by mid-morning). It's been way too long since I've done any serious shooting for an extended period of time. It felt good, although I was dismayed at just how rusty the reflexes have gotten. On the plus side, the knees held up fairly well to the repeated crouching and squatting and rising and kneeling and hunkering down, so yay for that. I think I might have gotten a few decent shots, too.
