Real or fictional?
May. 13th, 2009 08:30 amMy response to her original question summed up with: "You're too implausible to be fictional. You must actually exist." Which is true, but it got me thinking about myself and my life and how the assumptions and logic in that statement would apply to me. From my perspective, my life history and day-to-day existence are completely ordinary, nothing at all unusual or implausible about it. Since I think I'm completely plausible, I therefore must be fictional. But I suspect I'm not a very interesting character; I might even be two-dimensional stereotypical set dressing.
This is a very odd thing to think about one's self and one's life. So I'm going to borrow her idea of a poll and explore this a little further. Feel free to reply in the poll and in comments below.
