Loopier than a tailless kite

jaunthieThat's rather a meaningless metaphor in my experience; I grew up flying mostly delta-shaped kites, which don't require tails for stability. But I have seen kites that do require tails, and yes, they go spiraling around quite insanely when their tails get detached. That's pretty much what my brain is doing now, thanks to seasonal allergies and the drugs with which I am trying to combat them.
Every year, one week in the spring and to a lesser extent a week in the fall, *something* blooms. I don't know what it is. It probably is something different in the spring than in the fall. But whatever it is, it leaves me miserable. My throat is aching fiercely every time I swallow, thanks to all the crap draining down it from my poor abused sinuses. The usual drugs I take for being stuffy aren't up to this challenge. There are antihistamenes that are, but they leave me in the aforementioned too-addled-to-know-which-way-is-up state. Blech!
The timing on this is perfectly miserable. I really needed to get a lot of work done today, but nothing doing. I feel like roadkill, and my ability to concentrate is pretty well shot - as is my voice. Gah. I hope I'm better tomorrow, but experience tells me that it's going to be a long week.
