My office at work is on the north side of the building. It never gets direct light on that side, and there are trees that help shade that side of the building, too. So it naturally stays cooler, which you would think would be a bonus in hot weather and the summertime.
It's not.
The trouble is that the rest of the building naturally gets quite hot. So the AC systems work overtime producing cool air, so that all the rest of the offices stay cool and pleasant even though their sides of the building are getting baked. But on the north side of the building, offices get blasted with that same icy-cold air, and my office turns into a refrigerator.
It's not an insurmountable problem. There are certainly worse troubles to have. The cold makes me more prone to stiffening up, a little more tense, so I do have to be a little more careful. I dress accordingly, and keep an extra sweater in my office. But it is rather amusing to see the odd looks I get, wearing long-sleeved shirts and jeans with a fleece jacket or sweater over it all, while my co-workers are all wearing short-sleeves.
