The beans are insane. I picked so many today we couldn't eat them all. We'll have the rest tomorrow, at which point there will probably be more beans ready to be picked and cooked. Whee! Fortunately they are fabulously tasty, so eating them every day in significant quantities is no hardship.
I'm also still trying to get through the can't-braid-it garlic. Today I tried a recipe for "mu shu light" beef in cabbage cups. Instead of using the 2-3 cloves the recipe called for, I used an entire head. I also used more ginger than the recipe called for, as I needed to use up that piece. And I added bean sprouts to the recipe (what mu shu doesn't have bean sprouts?), used cabbage instead of baby bok choi, napa cabbage for the cups instead of bibb lettuce... Yeah, okay, so I don't tend to follow recipes to the letter, even the first time around. But the results were very, very tasty, packed full of veggies, and have left me pleasantly full. Hurrah!
