A Busy Day
Dec. 3rd, 2009 09:42 pmThursdays. Ah, yes. I'm not quite an Arthur Dent. I can, in fact, get the hang of Thursdays. But it is true that my Thursdays have an alarming tendency to be very busy days. Which is funny, because Thursdays are also my work-at-home days. (One of the advantages of working where I do is the corporate support for working from home.)
Today was a little busier than most.
Yes, it was a busy day. But it was also a very good one.
Today was a little busier than most.
- Get up early
- Check work email for any emergencies; find nothing that can't wait
- Go to meeting
- Go to PT session. Discover that my trainer is out sick. Do a leg and core workout anyways, including knee work. And then cardio, because. And then stretching, because we must always stretch.
- Get home and check mail. Find several emergencies waiting for me. Deal with emergencies.
- Also discover email from Interplanet Janet letting me know that it would be very convenient if I could go ahead and make food for
jenboo and N for delivery this evening. - Work work work.
- Finally get enough things taken care of so that I can take a shower. And eat lunch.
- Work work work some more.
- Take a quick break to go grocery shopping for cooking cornbread casserole and sultry kale. Quick break turns into long errand, as apparently the ENTIRE neighborhood decided to do their holiday grocery shopping this afternoon. Bleh!
- Finally get home, check mail, start work on cooking dinner.
- Multitask like a queen as I switch between cooking and working.
- Finish cooking and take break to deliver food.
fisherbear volunteers to drive. Leave our smaller casserole in the oven (turned off but still warm) to keep warm while we're away. - Get stuck in really ugly traffic.
- See Jenboo and N, and meet their beautiful baby boy G. Feed N and J food, and hold G while they eat. Yay!
- Go home and eat dinner.
- Check email and do some more work.
- Realize that it's past eight and decide to knock off work for the day.
- Crash.
Yes, it was a busy day. But it was also a very good one.
