It's deadline time (again), a really really major deadline. This has me stressed and working a lot of extra hours. And as usual, I listen to a lot of music to keep me going. I have a number of "keep me going" music mixes that I like to play, ranging from classical to grunge. However, every so often I find myself really gravitating to a particular artist for a particular deadline. The last time this happened, it was Sarah McLachlan, and particularly the song "World on Fire." It was for all intents and purposes my theme song for that particular release.

This time?

Pink. Or, as she likes to style it, P!nk. I only have one album of hers (Funhouse), picked up used at the local used book/music store, plus a few songs I bought from an e-store for specific compilation purposes. I would not have guessed that her music would hold so much appeal for me, but apparently this is a punky, bluesy, Pink-y deadline.

Anyone out there have other suggestions for stressed-out-and-on-deadline tunes? Or any particular thoughts on Pink, about whom I know almost nothing?

Back to the grind...

I seem to remember that a lot of Windows 95 involved Nine Inch Nails' "Pretty Little Hate Machine" album on repeat.

And there was one grueling doc revision for the NT Option Pack that involved Rush's "Exit Stage Left" album. Marvelous album but once I went to bed I couldn't sleep because a passage from "Red Barchetta" was stuck on endless loop in my head.

My fav P!nk songs are I'm guessing two of her most popular songs, "Let's Get This Party Started" and "Stupid Girls". I like her should probably look into getting more of her stuff but haven't.

*hugs* Try not to work too hard. ;)

The album that I have on replay lately is Tri-Polar by Sick Puppies (and who wouldn't love a band with a name like that? And they're Aussies to boot). You're Going Down is my personal theme song for bad days at work. White Balloons is just plain awesome.
