Oh, oh, oh
May. 27th, 2010 10:05 pmAfter much thought and deliberation (and going back and forth in my head), I finally picked a rose to serve as J memorial in my garden. I ordered it (and okay, a few other roses) early this spring, and planted it when it arrived as a wee, five-inch-high roseling in a four-inch pot on its own roots.
This was in March.
Today, J's rose is over a foot high, has an entirely new spur of new growth starting up, and boasts several buds. The rose is clearly thriving in its location. And one of the blossoms opened today.
Oh. My. Word.
The color is unreal. And the fragrance...just AMAZING. Stunning.
Wow.
J loved going out into the yard on his lead. He would have approved wholeheartedly of this addition.
