Less lumpy, less toothy cat
Jun. 30th, 2011 10:46 pmThe M-cat had his vet appointment today, to have his teeth cleaned and that lump removed and analyzed. He is a very stoned kitty at the moment, but home from the vet and very happy to be back.
The good news: the lump, while a fatty tumor, looked completely normal and benign for that kind of thing, to the point where the vet recommended against sending it out for further biopsy at this time. Apparently benign fatty tumors aren't completely uncommon in older cats. J-cat never developed any, but I guess we got lucky that way. Or M-cat got unlucky.
The not so good news: the vet found that M had two rotted molars that had to be extracted, and the extraction was "difficult." M-cat now has a very sore mouth, in addition to a much larger stitched incision than I was expecting. The vet sent us home with some pain meds to squirt in M-cat's mouth, should he need the relief.
Poor kitty really looks rather Frankenkitty at the moment. But that should improve in the next few days.
