Day One down, two to go
Jul. 22nd, 2005 08:02 pmI only have a limited time online (and many thanks to Uncle Andrew for letting me borrow his laptop!), so I won't go into detail right now. Suffice it to say that She's Jake to Me and I walked the course in good time, in good health, and in good spirits. And yes, we got rained on, and yes, we were prepared, and yes, it was MUCH better than if it had been 90 degrees and relentlessly sunny.
I am happy to report I have no blisters so far.
Tonight we're camping in a sea of two man tents parked on a swampy, large park on the East side. I'm hoping to avoid mosquito bites.
And on a personal note, many thanks to
fisherbear and MamaBear for coming out and cheering for me! Also big thanks are owed to GreenMan and MasterKnitter for putting us up last night and cooking us breakfast and ferrying us down to the starting point this morning. Four in the morning is a lot easier to face when someone is making you breakfast.
On to day two - hopefully with a good night's sleep to help me. Right now there's a concert in the park, but I'm hoping that it quits before it gets too late.

Forgive the crappy HTML, I let iPhoto do the driving for me.
You go girls!
