Yesterday, President Bush asked the nation to consume less gasoline: to drive less, to carpool, and so on. This from a president who has consistently refused to raise gas mileage standards, and whose administration is responsible for the $50,000.00 tax rebate for small business owners who buy H2s.

I'd say welcome to reality, George, except that there's ample evidence to show that he's nowhere near living in the same world we are. Case in point #1: he's arranged for FEMA to rehire Michael Brown, to evaluate FEMA's response following Hurricane Katrina. Yep, he's getting paid to investigate himself and to testify. Anyone want to place any bets as to whether he'll find himself responsible for his own incompetence?

At least his approval rating is sinking?

It's a shame we can't call for a general election like they do in the UK when the public decides their elected leader is incompetent. Makes me long for the parliamentary system--even if it does come with goofy wigs.
