I saw the following article on the BBC News site, and it immediately brought back memories of my one season working retail in the local mall. And at least we had no music actually in the store, just the 4-hour loop tape being played in the mall itself. It drove us all nuts, and it was WAY better than the places that have 1-hour loops (or less) for far longer (back in the day, the music didn't start until after Thanksgiving, and stopped the day after Christmas).

Click here to read the article, and then go petition your local shopping places to spare the sanity of their workers and kill the music loops. Or at least ensure that they're varied and interesting enough to prevent the aggravation and negative health effects.
