My optometrist rocks. So does my mom. Thanks to the pair of them, I have my new glasses...a scant two days after my eye exam. Thank you ladies!!!

Added bonus: fisherbear and I got to have dinner with my folks last night. It was good to catch up and talk about what we've been up to. In the course of our conversation, my mom shared this brilliant insight on the nature of modern rap music:

"It's all got a beat like slamming your head into a wall. And it's all about how some woman went and done me wrong and spent all my money...and then something about her ass."

I repeat: my mom is fantastic.

So, other than the head-slamming beat, rap is basically counrty music? Only with something about the woman's ass instead of something about a dog or a pick-up truck. ;->

In essence, yes. It's the Americana of our time, the music of the majority reflecting the majority reality. Plus it was such a fabulous comment all on its own - I only wish I could have recorded her delivery.
