The argument around his nomination has centered around abortion rights, but that's nowhere near the heart of the problem with Alito's nomination. The man is a complete devotee to the idea of the supremacy of the power of the executive over the legislative and judicial branches of government. He's an executive-powers patsy, and has been his entire career. That's the real reason Bush likes him for the post. No one who does not believe in the balance of powers spelled out in the constitution should be on the Supreme Court bench. 'Nuff said.
