As many of you already know, today is the start of Lent, which (among other things) is a traditional time to reflect on yourself and "give up" certain pleasures/things as part of the season of fasting and repentance and atonement and so on. I've always liked the idea of Lent, even when I haven't liked the idea of Christianity per se. I've done various things for Lent over the years; given up chocolate, only eaten homemade food (that was a toughie, given the work schedule I keep), done a bit of creative writing every day (I wasn't entirely successful with that one). This year, I've decided to take advantage of Lent to see if I can get my weight-loss back on track. I haven't lost any real weight in a while. Granted, I haven't gained any either, yay me. But I'm tired of being at this plateau, and I'm not getting any closer to my goal weight. So I'm going to see what I can do in this next 40 days to get that back on track and get below my current nemesis weight (which I haven't been able to get below so far).

A lot more apropos than Easter eggs (or Lincoln Logs), I think - although hopefully it won't take an actual miracle.

Sounds like excellent timing, with the big push at work finishing up. Well, you won't be the only one on Sunday trying to minimize the calorie intake.

If you want to shake up the routine with some yoga or running, let me know. I should be healthy enough for either by next week. :)
