It's pouring buckets outside
May. 24th, 2006 12:21 pm...to which I say YAY!, because it means that a) I won't have to water my baby plants and b) my established shrubs might get enough moisture into the ground that I won't have to water them for a week or two after it gets consistently sunny and warm. Now if I can only get time to plant the last of my herb and veggies transplants/starts...
I came across an interesting Web idea the other day. A blog that I read is hosting a "send me a picture from outside your window right now" event, in a kind of "here we all are in the Internet world together, so far apart in the real world" crossover with the concept behind the "24 hours" photoshoot. It's a neat concept. However, I almost choked when I saw the following image, which claims to be from Seattle at 5 p.m. Monday:

It's a nice picture, certainly. But it was also raining on Monday - and at this time of year, the sun doesn't set until about 8 p.m.. Either the clouds parted randomly and perfectly at that exact moment and the photo is badly underexposed, or it was taken in an alternative reality, or it's a stock shot someone sent in - maybe taken from their window at some other point in time, and maybe not. But if it's the latter, why did that person send in the picture? Most puzzling. Maybe the host just posted the date and time wrong.
