I got a call on Friday afternoon from my mom. She'd stopped by our house to check on a few things, and she reported that our cat Milo was throwing up everywhere. We already knew he'd been off his feed for about a day, and we were keeping an eye on things, but this was much worse than not eating much of his food. I instantly thought he might have gotten into something he shouldn't have - the wallpaper had come off the bathroom Wednesday, and priming and painting was in progress. So I rushed home, and sure enough, he had thrown up a lot of yellow, frothy liquid - nothing like the usual hairball - and he was looking as miserable as a perky, terminally cute cat can look. I scooped him into his carrier and dashed off to the vet's office, which was a zoo of emergencies, but they managed to make time for us. Milo wound up staying the night, having blood work and an x-ray. He came home Saturday, but he's still not eating, and not drinking much either. We've worked through all the obvious causes with the vet, and we're now working through the less-obvious potential causes. Throughout it all Milo has remained his usual sweet kitty self, very low-energy, but wanting to snuggle constantly. I wish he could tell us what was wrong, poor thing.
