I need a dandelion break
Jun. 6th, 2006 07:35 amIt's not any one thing in particular, although Milo being such a sick kitty undoubtedly isn't helping. But between the spiraling disintegration in Iraq, the military's new My Lai moment (Haditha) and the US Press's continuing abrogation of responsibility for serious investigative journalism/reporting of same (and nearly everything else), Twinkie's latest cyncial ploy of dragging out the "contitutional amendment banning gay marriage" canard (which even most Republicans dismiss as purely politics) and the subsequent regurgitation of hatred and intolerance as a Christian family value, the Supreme Court agreeing to take on the Seattle Public Schools case about whether promoting racial diversity can be a factor in deciding which students get assigned to what school (given the nature of the two latest nominees, I'm betting that racial diversity will get voted down), and the pharmacy association trying to pass a rule allowing pharmacists to not fill a prescription for the morning-after pill if it doesn't suit them to do so, and the shaky state of the stock market and rising inflation and growing debt, and...death...war...deficits...taxes...
...I need a dandelion break. Or maybe just some time out in the sun.
