Jake (my captain from last year's 3-Day) and her hubby Roo joined [livejournal.com profile] fisherbear and I in cheering [livejournal.com profile] sunkrux and the other 3-Day walkers on. Jake bought mist bottles, and she and I gave ourselves hand cramps misting down any walkers who wanted it (and believe me, when you're on the third day of the 3-Day and it's sunny out, you want the mist!). It was great to see them. It was actually my second time seeing them today, as fisherbear and I saw the 3-Day walkers walking earlier when we made a dump run this morning. We also had a nice chat with a team of volunteer medics for the 3-Day while getting a coffee.

All this has me thinking seriously about signing up to walk the 3-Day again next year. Jake's enthused about it, several of her clinic-mates are sounding like they want to do it, and and I have to admit that all the training was good for me...although it was of course a huge time sink. No need to decide instantly, of course, but hmm...maybe I can convince some of my fellow north-enders to sign up too...it would be good to have more people to train with, as Jake and I don't live near each other. Food for thought.

In the meantime, congratulations and THANK YOU to all those who walked, volunteered, cheered, donated, and supported the walk for the cure!

I saw many of the walkers at 65th & Sandpoint as I headed to the park for our closing matinee. Made sure to roll down my window and cheer and applaud them. It was cool to see them all there. :D

I waved and said "Hello Monkeybard" at the sign as the sweep van dropped me off at Pit stop 3 yesterday @ Magnuson Park. :D The misting and cheering by all the people at the cheer stations was WONDERFUL yesterday...it was soooo freakin' hot and far, far to HILLY! They LIED about the "no not too many hills" on the route this year. Sadly I missed most of the hills on the second day due to my right arch/ankle giving me fits of pain. I stayed off it that day to be able to walk on the 3rd day. It still hurt some but I walked most of the day...even on the bitch of a hill that is Inverness street/av/whatever. Thankfully it's downhill...but none the less...it's a steep ass hill and my right foot wasn't too happy.

Taking it easy today and doing laundry. :)

I looked for you in the crowd, but decided it was more important at that moment to focus on driving and not running over anyone. ;) Glad to see you survived. Go you!
