Okay, so the 4-foot sunflowers I planted there turned out to really, really like the soil and grew to 6-8 feet. Not ideal, but not doing any harm, and they would have died at the end of the season. You seemed to hate those the most, but apparently you also have issues with calendulas (marigolds for those of you who don't know), flowering nicotine, sweet annie, poppies, and anise hyssop. Actually, you apparently just have issues with plants and/or antisocial and violent tendencies. In any event, you have indeed managed to wreak havok on plants, which of course cannot run away or fight back, and thereby sealed your own karma.

So here is a gardner's curse on those who destroy gardens:

May your genitals wither,
May your every endeavor fail miserably,
May the works of your hands be carelessly destroyed by others,
And may you realize that when all this happens to you, you brought it all on yourself.
Once you learn this, may you become a better person,
And plant a garden of your own.

More to the point, you failed. I was able to repair some of the damage, and I was smart enough to plant tough stuff out there on the curb, so the rest should snap back - particularly since it's misty and cool today.

It's bad enough the havoc my black thumb of death manages to wreak on my own garden, let alone the idea of 'help' from an a-hole third party. My condolences on your garden losses. Hope the plant life snaps back quickly.

Although, I third the curse and add one of my own...

May their armpits be infested with the fleas of a thousand camels!

Thanks [livejournal.com profile] monkeybard and Ry. I appreciate the sympathy and support. It's raining today, which will also help the garden recover. But I'm seriously considering adding some roses to the mix next year, just to help discourage them that's too free with other people's plants...
